I think it's easy to predict some things that will happen in 950 days
in 950 days there will be several hundred warehouses concentrating over a million people in this country including many thousands of children costing a quarter trillion dollars (already funded)
and the Iran War will still be happening despite over a hundred declared "deals"
and the US will be running Cuba (forcing millions to return there)
statistical noise or the lack of it will be the least of our problems
is it just double-dipping the spending (this might be your point)
or it is actually doing an end-run around laws against governments doing the surveillance themselves, instead they get private companies to do it and then it's perfectly legal to buy the data
just like government buys cellphone tracking data and mortgage data from private brokers when there are laws blocking them doing it directly
it's called "government contracting", but you were thinking of "fascism", weren't you?
Fascism does mix state and corporate power, but that's not a definitive part of it. Fascism mixes all powers because the nature of fascism is to only tolerate one power, which is itself. This doesn't mean that every time the government and corporations work together, it's fascism.
Who enforces the Constitution? SCOTUS is capable of reinterpreting any Constitutional right you have and create carve outs for “national security” boogeymen.
Some US politicians were proposing a total ban on allowing cars of Chinese origin into the US, which is rather extreme. They don't want to risk US nationals seeing them and wanting them.
> Detroit is doomed anyway once 9 out of 10 workers is replaced with "AI" controlled bots
As a non-American, I'd kinda assumed Detroit's car industry was already long-gone. Wasn't its industrial decline the inspiration for a bunch of dystopian films in the 80s and 90s?
College roommate worked for nvidia and cashed out last year and retired in his early 50s. Tens of millions in cash. After tax too. Am I jealous? Hell yes.
I think most still believe in the mission, especially the ones with that many shares. I get selling enough to buy a house and add some diversity to your portfolio, but you really have to have a dismal outlook to sell all your shares, or even half.
because the next two years are going to become insanely miserable
